SALVATION HISTORY

Six Things to Notice in this Beautiful Image of Mary and Eve The symbolism of this beautiful image, in many senses, offers a summary of all our beliefs about Mary. Its very form and aesthetic feel hints at Eve’s exposed vulnerability and Mary’s effortless joy.
Introduction to Salvation History Prezi presentation of salvation history portrayed as “family tree” by Sister M. Antonia Pinon.

The Story of the Bible in a Nutshell An outline of bible passages that tell the narrative of the story of salvation history in a chronological sequence and in a nutshell (very brief passages that I will elaborate on and connect one to another to tell the story). The young people will have Bibles and we’re going to get them leafing through its pages by using this outline.
Biblical Literacy for Catechists: Moses, Deliverer of His People Through Moses, God saved his people. This tale is so important that it is retold each year at the Eater Vigil, when we celebrate how Jesus saved us through his Paschal Mystery.

Bible Study Resources for Salvation History A list of resources and suggestions when learning about Salvation History and using the Bible. Materials from Ascension Press
Introduction to Salvation History PowerPoint PowerPoint from Ave Maria Press. This PowerPoint presentation is part of the Living in Christ Series. It explores salvation history, the transmission of Divine Revelation, and the role of the Magisterium.

Prayer in Salvation History The Catechist and Catholic School Teacher as Leaders and Models of Prayer Sr. M. Johanna Paruch FSGM, Ph.D.

USCCB - The Gospel According To Luke "The Gospel according to Luke is the first part of a two-volume work that continues the biblical history of God’s dealings with humanity found in the Old Testament, showing how God’s promises to Israel have been fulfilled in Jesus and how the salvation promised to Israel and accomplished by Jesus has been extended to the Gentiles."

TASK 1 – KNOWLEDGE OF THE FAITH– Students explore, profess, and reflect on our Catholic faith, which is the content of God's revelation found in Sacred Scripture and Sacred tradition and lived out in the Creed and Church doctrine.

The Essential Concepts come from the Table of Contents for the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC). They have been re-organized to fit under the Six Tasks of Catechesis. CCC articles numbers associated with each Essential Concept are listed throughout this document. Referencing CCC article numbers is a recommended resource for catechist preparation.
